Snow Flurries

Yesterday I saw a few snow flurries as I went to work and they persisted into the afternoon. However I was still surprised to find a dusting sticking on parts of the garden this morning. Here is some on the bok choy and then the cold frame. It seemed to slide right off the kale and brussels sprouts.
It is interesting how they stuck to the rows more than the paths.I'm wondering when the ground freezes. I need to harvest carrots and beets before that happens but would rather store them in the garden as long as I can. Winter isn't too far away.

Oh my, can't believe you already have flurries!! Yikes. What do you have growing in the cold frames? How long into the season do you keep plants in there?

meemsyc,

I have arugula, carrots, mache, claytonia, kohlrabi and more. You can read about it on this post.

Last year I was able to keep greens through December. Then it made the things that over wintered come back earlier in Spring. However we moved in March so I didn't have a full year cycle with it one place. This will be the first year that I get to have it overwinter and then hopefully harvest again in the spring.

It is cold here, just 36°F as I write this at 7:15 pm, but no snow yet for us, and I'm happy to keep ot that way for now!

Snow already, that's crazy. It is strange how it stuck to your beds and not the paths.
